DEVELOPING: Workers were injured and several were reported missing after series of large explosions rocked a gas plant in Lake County, Florida.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the explosions began a little before 11 p.m. at Blue Rhino, a propane tank-exchange company in Tavares, Florida.
Tavares City Administrator John Drury told the newspaper 10 of 24 people working at the plant have not been accounted for after the blasts.
Lake County Sheriff Gary Borders said that all the explosions happened inside the plant and that the building's roof had been blown off.
Lt. John Herrell, a Lake County Sheriff's Office spokesman, told the Orlando Sentinel that a night shift crew was working at when the explosions occurred.
Homeowners living within a mile of the facility were evacuated, authorities said.
