3 shot outside Pittsburgh high school, police say

Authorities are looking for a gunman after three students were shot outside of Brashear High School in Pittsburgh Wednesday afternoon.

Pittsburgh School District Spokeswoman Ebony Pugh told The Associated Press that the students were walking to their vehicle that they had taken to school earlier that day when they were hit.

Officials told Triblive.com that after the shooting, two of the injured ran into Brashear High School, which was placed on lockdown.

Pittsburgh EMS chief Mark Bocian told Reuters that all three students were taken by paramedics to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. He said one was grazed in the head by a bullet, one was grazed in the side and a third was hit in the ankle.

Police and K-9 units are now searching the woods nearby for the shooter and have closed off streets around the school, Triblive.com reports.
